Back in the 1940's childhood was very, very different. Kids used to get up out of bed and play outside, but now kids get up and play the play station and the computer. Kids used to collect wood and make up bonfires and sit around them and chat. Kids used to make flying foxes. So as you can see childhood was a lot different back in the olden days. Kids used to play on scatbords because they used to make them. Kids now have a lot of fun play out side.
